Gorge Pickleball Association

Join us in playing the funnest sport in the Gorge!

We are proud to introduce the new GPA board members for 2021.

The previous board members have paved the way for pickleball in the Gorge and now have passed the torch to a new crew to continue on with the mission of providing opportunities for social play, player improvement, and the continuing development of pickleball facilities in the Columbia Gorge region.

Randee Bowder
President

Randee has been playing Pickleball since 2019. She plays doubles with her husband Craig as much as possible. For work, she runs a company in Hood River that provides medication therapy management for Medicare patients all over the US. She has a daughter in the Hood River Valley High School class of 2022, and has lived in Hood River since 2006.

Jackie Geary (Jinx)
Secretary

Jinx was born and raised in Hood River, graduating from HRVHS in 2000. After a few years away, she moved back to the valley to raise 2 daughters. She played roller derby for 6 years until a friend introduced her to pickleball, which has since become a passion, along with her family’s popcorn business. Her husband, Doug, joins her on the court where they love to laugh and always have fun. She’s happy to be a part of the GPA board to help keep this great sport thriving in the Columbia River Gorge.

Kim Beam
Treasurer

Kim and her husband were both born and raised here in Hood River. They raised 3 children and now have 5 grandchildren, all of them still live here. She worked at Hood River hospital for 35 years and still does some travel nursing during the winter months. She also started a chestnut farm, Nutquacker Farms, in 1994 and sold that when they went RV’ing full time. I started playing pickleball in the RV resorts with the other “old timers” and fell in love with the game!

Kevin Beeson
Player Development

Kevin is originally from Minnesota and has been playing for almost 4 years as an IPTPA Professional. He’s the Director of the GAC and tours as a teaching professional with Engaged Pickleball. He’s also a 2 time National Champion.

Our Mission is to promote the game of pickleball throughout the Columbia Gorge, providing opportunities for social play, and competitive player improvement, and assisting in the development of pickleball facilities in the Columbia Gorge region.
